The VA Pays for Day Programs for Veterans

The VA health care system recognizes the value of adult day services and pays for this service as a health care benefit for those who have served our wonderful country. Cost for our adult day program may be covered for veterans who are enrolled in the VA health care system, provided there is a medical need for services.

To qualify for the VA’s Adult Day Benefit the veteran must:

  • See a VA doctor
  • Have a VA doctor’s orders stating he/she requires assistance to perform two or more activities of daily living (ADLs: eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring and continence)
  • Have their doctor submit a request for Adult Day Services
  • Visit our Day Program to meet our staff and to allow us to develop a program to meet your needs
